I see this commercial all the time (or a slightly newer version of it), and it’s quickly becoming one of my all-time least favorites.
I can’t really put my finger on why that is, especially since Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. has certainly had commercials which were WAY more overtly sexist than this one. (See Padma Lakshmi, Paris Hilton, mechanical bull girl, and the one with Alltel Chad.)
Maybe it annoys me so much precisely because it isn’t so in-your-face with gratuitous T&A. In theory, they could even make an ad with a woman at the paint shop complaining about how expensive it is to have multiple boyfriends. If it was at all realistic, though, I guarantee you that the word written on the side of her car would be much more graphic than the word CHEATER.
